▪ Abstract Legal rules governing the employer-employee relationship are many and varied. This review is concerned with the economic analysis of such rules. The review focuses on areas of employment regulation that have not been reviewed elsewhere from an economic perspective. Topics considered in the review include workplace safety regulation, privacy protection in the workplace, fringe benefits mandates, targeted mandates such as medical and family leave, and rules requiring that employees receive overtime pay. Both economic theory and empirical evidence are considered. |
