The coincidental appearance of a rash on four employees of a clothing factory at the same time as a new cloth was introduced led to an outbreak of “dermatitis” which seriously threatened the factory's production. Investigations of the workers, including patch testing, failed to incriminate the cloth in question, and the outbreak died a natural death.
