dc.description ▪ Abstract  Axon growth inhibitors associated with myelin and the glial scar contribute to the failure of axon regeneration in the injured adult mammalian central nervous system (CNS). A number of these inhibitors, their receptors, and signaling pathways have been identified. These inhibitors can now be neutralized by a variety of approaches that point to the possibility of developing new therapeutic strategies to stimulate regeneration after spinal cord injury.
