Oil-palm seedlings growing in complete nutrients solution in the presence and absence of boron were analysed for chlorophyll, nucleic acid, IAA, carbohydrates and polyphenols. Some differences in concentration of the above were observed. The significance of these observations with regard to the role of boron is discussed.
