We have developed ultrasonic spray pyrolysis, a one-step, continuous, scalable and rapid route, to synthesize nanocomposites with different morphology. The morphology can be tuned via selecting different carbon source. Rattle-type Carbon hollow spheres, high-density magnetite nanoparticles located in carbon hollow microspheres, carbon-iron oxide black pigments with tunable density, and silver porous hollow spheres can be obtained when sodium citrate, citrate acid and glucose were used as carbon source, respectively. Due to the presence of OH, C.dbd;C and CH groups in aforementioned nanocomposites, they exhibit good dispersibility in both polar and nonpolar solvents. Finally, their applications in Li-ion battery and electrophoretic displays were investigated. |
