Several analogies between simple physical systems are presented. A quantum mechanical argument is used to give direct proof of the equivalence between the one-dimensional N body problem (with hard particles) and the problem of a single particle bouncing in a billiard delimited by an N-dimensional simplex. Then, for a system made of two soft particles, we prove the equivalence with an optical reflection/refraction problem
