The equation of state for an ideal fluid dimerizing mixture in equilibrium, involving only the variables of density, absolute temperature and pressure, with exclusion of the composition variables, is shown to lead to a non-zero Joule-Kelvin coefficient whose expression is obtained in terms of the properties of the reacting mixture. The relation between the thermodynamic properties of the mixture with and without the chemical reaction in equilibrium is established.
