A method of optical profilometry by phase measurement with a CCD array sensor is applied to the study of cavitation erosion phenomenon. 3D data extracted from the impact patterns yield the extracted matter volume, the main erosion directions the distribution of impacts, etc. Different digital operators are applied. The optical method used and the digital image processing are quite general and can easily be extended to other erosion phenomena. |
