Based on the structure of substrate-mode holograms, a new type of 1-to- optical fan-out module which consists of two layers of grating arrays for optical interconnects is presented. The first and second layer have a grating array and a grating array, respectively. By suitably choosing the diffracted angle and diffraction efficiency of every grating, similar diffraction will be performed repeatedly at every grating. Finally, output beams are obtained.
