dc.description We present results on transport in an altered percolating system obtained by applying large voltages or frequencies. In conductor-insulator mixtures the conductance, Σ, of a sample increases from its initial value at low voltages to saturate at a level that depends on the initial value. It is found that the transport exponent, t', in the altered state has a value of ct, where c = 0.76 ± 0.07 and t is the universal value of the exponent. We also re-examine the case of a.c. conduction and find that t' = 0. Implications of these results are discussed in the context of a correlated percolation problem.
