The eigenstates of an electron in a hierarchical potential are investigated in the tight-binding approximation. The energy spectrum, which is known to be a Cantor set of measure zero, is found to possess wavefunctions which are self-similar and critical (i.e. the envelope has power law decay from the maximum). The wavefunctions are investigated in detail, with analytical and numerical results presented for their scaling properties.
