| dc.description | The author considers a one-dimensional Ising spin glass system with random interactions of the form J<sub>ij</sub>= in <sub>ij</sub> f( gamma )exp(- gamma mod i-j mod ), in <sub>ij</sub> being independent random variables. Generalizing Kac's approach for the one-dimensional gas the author formulates the solution of the problem as that of obtaining the eigenvalues of a certain integral equation. In particular, as gamma to 0 the author recovers the results of the Sherrington-Kirkpatrick model and this new approach may give further information about the spin glass transition. |
