We investigate a class of contractions of the anti-de Sitter superalgebra in (1 + 1) and (3 + 1) space-time dimensions giving rise to the kinematical Poincaréand Galilei superalgebras. We also present faithful finite-dimensional matrix representations that are suitable for contraction in different ways.
