The nuclear volume correction to the hyperfine-structure interaction of j=1/2 electrons is recalculated for realistic nuclear charge distributions, and the results are shown to be much less sensitive to the assumed nuclear charge distribution than some earlier calculations. Some of the usual approximations are critically discussed.
