The authors study the dynamics of a vibrational molecular wavepacket in single- and double minimum potentials. A semiclassical path representation for the relevant Green function is derived in a particularly concise form by using graph theoretical concepts. Approximate analytical expressions are obtained for the two-photon transition probability which is measured in typical pump-probe experiments using two short, weak laser pulses.
