A closed analytic form is derived for the vibrational electric dipole matrix elements for transitions between vibrational level, n, in the discrete state and continuum energy, , in the continuum state of a Morse potential. Examples of are presented for vibrational transitions between the discrete (in ) and continuum states of HF and CO.
