Cross sections for Xe<sup>2+</sup> production from the combined processes of charge transfer and ionisation have been determined for Xe<sup>+</sup>-Xe<sup>+</sup> collisions, at centre-of-mass energies between 38 and 303 keV by means of an intersecting-beam technique previously developed in the authors' laboratory.
