On excitation of gaseous xenon by 0.6 keV electrons a wide emission band has been found in the photon energy range 70-150 eV. On the basis of the analysis of experimental and theoretical investigations the band is attributed to the 'atomic' component of the bremsstrahlung spectrum of 0.6 keV electrons on xenon formed by atomic excitations in an ionisation continuum above the 4d threshold.
