Quadrupole moment in the ground state of atomic hydrogen

The quadrupole moment of the atomic hydrogen ground state is calculated. It arises due to a hyperfine interaction. Its true value is 20 times larger than the result obtained only taking into account the hyperfine mixing with the lowest d level.
