Temperature-dependent line broadening in the Mossbauer spectra of the pyrochlores Dy2FeSbO7 and Dy2Sn2O7 is attributed to a hyperfine interaction at the 119Snm or 57Fe nuclei supertransferred via O2- ions from Dy3+. Relatively slow spin-lattice relaxation of Dy3+ occurs and the temperature dependence of the relaxation time is consistent with the occurrence of a two-phonon Orbach process.
