dc.description The authors have investigated the problem of an antiferromagnetic spin-1 system in the presence of a strong, uniaxial, anisotropic crystal field, treated exactly, using the angular momentum (spherical tensor) operator Green function. The expression for the sublattice magnetization reduces to those already known in limiting cases. The Neel temperature T<sub>N</sub> has been calculated as a function of anisotropy constant, and is compared with earlier results.
