The twin structure of ferroelastic BiVO4 crystals grown by the Czochralski method has been investigated by nuclear magnetic resonance and X-ray diffraction. In some crystals two seven-line structures in the 51V(I=7/2) NMR signals are recorded instead of a simple single seven-line structure. These two sets of resonance lines, measured at 15 MHz and at room temperature, are analysed: the principal X, Y and Z axes of the electric quadrupole interaction are along the c, a and b axes for one set, as reported, and the X and Y axes are interchanged for the other. A (010) standard stereographic projection of the X-ray diffraction is utilised to analyse back-reflection Laue photographs taken from ten local points on the surface of the crystal. The superposed stereographic projections of the relative orientations of grains are consistent with NMR results and confirm that BiVO4 is twinned by 180 degrees rotation about (101) axes. However, this domain wall (101) is a new prominent plane, different from those reported previously.
