Direct experimental evidence of low temperature anharmonicity in superconducting spinels

Preliminary experimental data are reported for the absolute values and temperature dependence of the Mossbauer recoil-free fraction of <sup>119</sup>Sn in the superconducting spinel CuRh<sub>1.95</sub>Sn<sub>0.05</sub>Se<sub>4</sub>. The results are consistent with earlier investigations which indicated the presence of an anharmonic potential well at the octahedral sites.
