Sublinear and superlinear current-voltage characteristics of amorphous Se<sub>1-x</sub>Te<sub>x</sub> films

The current-voltage characteristics of amorphous Se<sub>1-x</sub>Te<sub>x</sub> films have been measured for x of 0, 0.005, 0.05 and 0.1. The results show that the occurrence of the sublinear region depends on x and the electrode surface conditions. The space charge and transient potential measurements using a new three-electrode system confirm that the sublinear behaviour is associated with the electrode-limited carrier injection and that the transition from the sublinear to the superlinear region is the onset of double injection.
