dc.description An anomalous photovoltaic effect (APE) has been observed in thin films of zinc selenide obliquely deposited in vacuum for the first time. Photovoltages of up to 70 V have been measured in some samples. The effect is influenced strongly by some experimental parameters. The changes in the photovoltages may be attributed to the film structure which has been investigated during the course of this study.
