dc.description The thermal conductivity of palladium has been measured by the improved Jain and Krishnan method in the temperature range 1150-1420°K. The thermal conductivity increases with temperature, the increase being more rapid at the lower temperatures than at the higher temperatures. The lattice conductivity is found to be negative up to about 1250°K, even if the modified form of the Lorenz ratio suggested by Backlund is used. The electrical resistivity and the total emissivity also increase with temperature in the temperature range 1150-1450°K. The spectral emittance in the wavelength region 0·52-0·65 μm decreases with temperature in the same temperature range.
