dc.description While much attention has been focused on predicting the rate of deposition of particles from turbulent gas flow, relatively little work has been done on simulating the morphology of the deposit. A two-dimensional inertial deposition model has been used to determine the structure of the aggregate formed on a wall when particles are projected across the boundary sublayer. The effects of varying the sticking probability of particles to other particles have been studied. Reducing the probability was found to make the deposit more compact. An attempt has also been made to consider the effects of eddies in the sublayer on the characteristic filament structure of the aggregation. The resulting deposits were found to have a lower fractal dimension.
