| dc.description | An account is given of the development, and verification by experiment, of a Monte Carlo method for obtaining the flux of radiation around a point source in an atmosphere of scattering particles, having an absorbing boundary. It is shown that the method gives satisfactory solutions in regions close to the boundary, where an earlier diffusion method became inaccurate.The two methods have complementary features which make it profitable for them to be used in conjunction, each in the domain in which it is most accurate and convenient. |
