Thermal diffusion factor α<sub>T</sub> of the system <sup>20</sup>Ne-CH<sub>4</sub> has been measured as functions of composition and temperature by an effective eight-tube swing separator. The α<sub>T</sub> against composition curve shows a dip which cannot be explained by the available elastic or inelastic theories of thermal diffusion in gases. |
