A wind tunnel balance capable of measuring all six components of force and moment at the base of building models over the frequency range <0.00016 Hz to 500 Hz has been built by Kistler Instruments to Building Research Establishment (BRE) specifications. The form and performance of the balance which employs standard piezoelectric force transducers are described, and two examples of typical research applications illustrated.
