dc.description An inexpensive, versatile, feedback-controlled method of stabilising the output intensity of a pulsed dye laser over a wide range of operating energies and wavelengths is described in detail. Its likely utility in multiphoton-induced spectroscopic studies is demonstrated by a study of part of the two-photon fluorescence excitation spectrum of NO.
