An analogue model of a resistance thermometer immersed in a fluid is proposed. It is shown how measurements of the self-heating effect can be used to determine the parameters of the model, and hence the time response of the thermometer under working conditions. These parameters reveal important information about the thermometer and its environment and make it possible to design a compensating filter. A significant improvement has been achieved by this method.
