The paper describes a dilatometer which has been designed for the study of the kinetics of solid-liquid metal interaction. This apparatus can operate in a vacuum or at different atmospheres. The dimensional changes produced during the interaction and the temperatures of the furnace and the reacting specimen are automatically recorded.
