Details are given of a simple traverse gear to carry Pitot tubes, hot-wire anemometer probes or similar instruments which need to be pitched, yawed and rolled as well as positioned in space: it has six degrees of freedom, four of which are controlled by a microcomputer system. The traverse gear and the analogue-to-digital conversion system are controlled by a 16-bit microcomputer, which also analyses the data.
