A calibration method is described for a five-hole spherical Pitot probe by which the direction of a velocity vector is fixed by two Cartesian angles, one lying in the horizontal equatorial plane and the other in a vertical meridian plane containing the velocity vector. Measurements are found to be possible within the range of up to 65° half cone angle from the probe axes. |
