| dc.description | Considerations leading to a choice of ellipsoid dimensions in the ellipsoid electrostatic high-voltage voltmeter are re-examined. It is concluded that a ratio of axes of approximately 2 to 1 is the best choice. This enables the use of higher voltage gradients than previously considered. |
