The non-linear theory of transverse wave propagation in an infinite, homogeneous, collisionless plasma in the direction of an impressed magnetic field is examined using kinetic theory. Dispersion relations are found for a cold plasma and a Maxwellian plasma which agree with results found from the linearized treatment of the Boltzmann-Vlasov equation.
