This paper presents a simple analysis of the responsivity measurements of an HgCdTe photoconductive detector. It is shown that the responsivity is influenced by the shunt resistance but remains independent of contact resistance. It is also predicted that the influence of the shunt resistance on the responsivity is much stronger than predicted by the models currently used.
