The author present the results of a numerical study of electrical conductance between two two-dimensional electron reservoirs connected by two narrow parallel channels of length 2C and lateral dimensions W<sub>1</sub> and W<sub>2</sub> respectively. In agreement with previous work, they find that the system of two channels behaves as a classical system of two conductors added in parallel. Closer inspection shows that interference effects between the two channels may be present, but the conductance structures are still dominated by quantized plateaux and regular oscillations at T=0 K. |
