Mossbauer study of pseudobinary (Zr<sub>1-x</sub>Hf<sub>x</sub>)Fe<sub>2</sub> compounds

Mossbauer spectroscopy measurements were made at the Fe sites in the pseudo-binary compounds (Zr<sub>1-x</sub>Hf<sub>x</sub>)Fe<sub>2</sub>. The experimental results indicate the existence of two kinds of site with respect to isomer shift and quadrupolar interaction behaviour. An explanation based on a tight-binding model and taking into account the existence of a magnetisation axis along the (111) direction is presented for the observed hyperfine electric interactions.
