When the Azbel-Kaner equation is taken for the line shape of a cyclotron resonance signal and the Fermi surface is taken to be a sphere with a nonconstant M, a splitting of the cyclotron resonance line into a main line with a Chambers shape and a 'satellite line that lies outside the region where Chambers' formula is valid is found. The satellite line problem provides the explanation for some previously uninterpreted resonances in zinc and cadmium. |
