Reactor fast neutrons were used to measure the inelastic scattering cross sections of six low-lying states in <sup>159</sup>Tb using the time-of-flight technique. The integral cross-section values were obtained relative to secondary standard values of <sup>56</sup>Fe. The measured excitation functions were compared with the values deduced using the Hauser-Feshbach-Moldauer formalism and with the available ENDF evaluation. Gamma-ray angular distribution measurements were also performed at six angles for several gamma transitions.
