The paramagnetic resonance from the nickel ion in nickel fluosilicate hasbeen investigated at a number of frequencies and temperatures. It has previously been suggested that the ion is in an electric field of trigonal symmetry. The results obtained are in good agreement with this hypothesis. It is also found that the magnitude of the splitting of the levels varies with temperature. |
