| dc.description | A modification due to Rudge of an approximation suggested by Ochkur is used to calculate the following excitation cross sections in helium. 1 <sup>1</sup>S -> 2 <sup>3</sup>S, 2 <sup>3</sup>P, 3 <sup>3</sup>S, 3 <sup>3</sup>P, 3 <sup>3</sup>D and 2 <sup>1</sup>S -> 2 <sup>3</sup>S. Various atomic wave functions are used and a comparison of the results is made with experimental data. |
