| dc.description | The goniometer stage consists essentially of a hemispherical ball resting in a conical seating. The theory of the mechanism, together with methods for changing the orientation of the specimen in a predetermined way are described. The rotations effectively take place about two axes normal to each other and to the incident beam, and it is possible to orientate any desired crystallographic direction in a thin foil specimen parallel to the beam. |
