| dc.description | A five-day conference on liquids was held at Imperial College, London, in September 1963. There were sessions on structure and related properties, equilibrium properties, including those of mixture and phase transitions, transport properties and conducting liquids. This report summarizes the work of these four sessions and tries to assess the present state of knowledge in the related fields and to compare this with the situations revealed by the Royal Society discussion on liquids in 1952 and the Brussels conference on transport processes in 1956. It is concluded that the cumulative effect of a large number of small advances has been very considerable, and that some of the really stubborn problems may be near solution. |
