dc.description The heat capacity of potassium manganese trifluoride has been reported in the range 80-300°K. Two anomalies were observed, one at 83·3°K and the other at 179°K. The transition at 83·3°K is attributed to an antiferromagnetic ordering of the manganese ions below this temperature. The second transition, at 179·0°K, is a small hump associated with a crystal structural change. The heat capacity below 80°K is calculated using a Debye-Einstein type of function. The thermodynamic functions such as entropy, enthalpy and free energy have been evaluated and tabulated at 20 degK intervals over the range 80-300°K. The values of C<sub>p</sub>, S<sub>T</sub> - S<sub>0</sub>, H<sub>T</sub> - H<sub>0</sub> and - (G<sub>T</sub> - H<sub>0</sub>)/T are 27·5 cal mole<sup>-1</sup> degK<sup>-1</sup>, 38·02 cal mole<sup>-1</sup> degK<sup>-1</sup>, 5399 cal mole<sup>-1</sup> and 19·92 cal mole<sup>-1</sup> degK<sup>-1</sup>, respectively, at 298·15°K.
