| dc.description | A multiple-loop servo-system is used to control and measure the energy of an ion beam from a 500 kV electrostatic generator to 1 part in 10<sup>3</sup>. A modulated electron beam is used to provide fast correction of the generator potential over a range of ± 150 kV. With 15 μA of control electrons, the X-ray intensity in the target room is increased from 0.07 r per 8 h to 0.10 r per 8 h. |
