The occurrence of static electricity in the textile industry, and the ways in which it interferes with production, are briefly described. The general principles of its dissipation are discussed, with special emphasis on the time factor. Brief descriptions are given of the various types of electrostatic eliminator, both electric and radioactive, used in the textile industry, with references to the commercial apparatus.
