The research was undertaken to make comparative tests on equipment for particle size analysis with the special object of devising methods suitable for rapid routine analyses by sedimentation.A special test dust, having a controlled grading, was used for the comparative tests. The authors' recommendations for suitable methods of size analysis are given, with the probable degree of error and the range of particle size to which the various methods are applicable.
